Tye Dye Cupcake fun

Its a little more work than making normal plain cupcakes, but kids get such a huge kick out of taking a bite and Wow!! a rainbow!! Here  are some simple steps to making these yourself. Sarah and I made them this morning for her daughters birthday!

Start by making white cake mix, here we used 2 boxes of Betty Crocker white cake mix, Separate it into as many bowls as there will be colors, we had the whole rainbow, so 6 bowls. Add food coloring to the mixes. the more coloring the brighter the cake!! mix the colors in good so no white is showing!

Then pour the different colors in their own zip lock bags and seal them tightly, removing as much air as you can!

Remember the order you pour the colors is how they'll bake.We started with red and layered it up to purple. Bake at 350* for 17-18 minutes and let them cool, We made our simple buttercream and sprinkled our rainbow sprinkles on them and Tada! done. Super easy and Super fun! Enjoy!♥

Red Robin just now caught on?

Yes, Red Robin has joined the rest of America and started serving cupcakes. When we went to our local one here in Albany I all but fell over the table when I saw this cardboard menu! I scarfed my food down sooo freakin fast just so I could order dessert. But.... when the time finally came I ordered the ChocoLOT one, super excited! When it came however, that super excitedness I felt quickly fell. It looked wet and glossy. Obviously wasn't real butter cream. but I got myself together peeled off the paper and digged my fork in. I could tell it had been previously thawed and still a little frozen in the middle. My husband says I'm not allowed to tell you they taste like dirt, so I'm gonna tell you I didn't like them. I don't really recommend the cupcakes. Their Milkshakes and other treats yes, cupcakes....No.♥
